Meals On Wheels
What is Meals On Wheels?
Meals on Wheels serves homebound persons ages 60 and over where the older person is having difficulty providing his/her own meals. The purpose of the program is to provide essential nutrition and prevent health deterioration and loss of independence.
Income is not an eligibility criterion, however priority is given to those with the greatest need. Key criteria: over 60, homebound, and nutritionally at risk
The hot meals are delivered between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some people receive a second meal (PM) consisting of a cold plate menu for use as the evening meal, if there is a need.
Meals on Wheels is operated by the Brevard Community Kitchen, a program of the Community Services Council.
