As we age, changes in capabilities may not be immediately noticeable for an independent person to admit. Asking for help may also be a very difficult step to take, but it is very important to recognize signs that could indicate medical assistance might be required.
To help ensure a healthy outlook on life is maintained, the program assists clients with overcoming obstacles that can be associated with growing older, including:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Difficulty coping with change
- Trouble adjusting to retirement
- Deterioration of daily living skills
- Loneliness and isolation
- Crying spells and/or explosive anger
- Debilitating problems with grief and loss
- Adjusting to declining physical health
- Negative changes in eating and sleeping habits
- Memory loss, disorientation and/or hallucinations
- Strained family relationships
- Hopelessness often accompanied by suicidal thinking
