Nurse Navigator
The Nurse Navigator acts as a patient advocate to ensure the patient understands the plan of care and continues to act as a resource throughout testing, diagnosis and any necessary treatment. Our patients are encouraged to ask questions and be actively involved in their care.
The staff at the Health First Breast Center understands that navigating the issues surrounding breast health can be overwhelming. We have a dedicated Nurse Navigator specifically trained to help patients with their breast health. The Nurse Navigator treats patients respectfully and with compassion, while at all times keeping their medical information confidential. They are trained to "navigate" the patient, their family members and caregivers through the complexities of the diagnostic process in a timely manner.
The Nurse Navigator listens to your concerns and understands your needs. They can help in many ways:
- Talk with your healthcare providers and get answers to your questions.
- Get the information you need about procedures or treatments.
- Understand what's happening with your health care so you can make the best decisions.
- Provide education throughout the continuum of care.
- Arrange for tests or other appointments.
- Find out about resources or services that may help you.
- Provide patients with appropriate follow-up care.
