Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers can plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases, remove wrinkles and improve the appearance of recessed scars. The results can be immediate. Dermal fillers injected just below the surface of the skin fill in lines, wrinkles and scars to add volume, giving you a smoother, more youthful appearance. Fillers, when used around the mouth and lips can increase fullness of the lips and lessen the downward slant of the corners of the mouth and lips. These injectables are composed of safe, bio-compatible micro-particles. The most common areas treated are the smile lines around the nose and mouth, fine lines above the lips, frown lines between the eyes, and acne scars. Cosmetic dermal fillers provide a more youthful-looking appearance, without looking like you've had work done!

There are several classes and types of dermal fillers such as Restylane®, Juvederm® Ultra XC, Radiesse®, and Sculptra®.

Juvederm® is a dermal filler produced by Allergan Pharmaceutical (the same company who produces Botox®) and is used to smooth away wrinkles around your mouth and nose, with immediate results. In just one treatment, you'll get smooth and natural-looking results that last up to a year. It is infused with lidocaine to improve comfort during treatment. Everyone's skin ages differently and Juvederm® may also be used to rejuvenate multiple problem areas. From smile lines to vertical lip lines, you can smooth away unwanted wrinkles and restore natural contours. Everyone will notice how great you look, but no one will know. Sculptra® Aesthetic is relatively new to facial rejuvenation and works gradually to replace lost collagen while enhancing your face and cheek structure. On average, a series of three or four injections are needed over a period of a few months. Noticeable results emerge subtly and can last for more than a year. However, Sculptra cannot be used in the lips and is most effective when used in the wrinkles and deep folds between the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds), which are referred to as smile lines and the lines framing your mouth, called marionette lines.
