Program overview.
The Health First Family Medicine Residency Program, in partnership with Brevard Health Alliance (BHA), is dedicated to fostering the growth of skilled, compassionate, and well-rounded family medicine physicians. Together, we are committed to preparing residents to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care across diverse healthcare settings, while deeply rooted in the realities and rewards of community-based medicine.
This collaboration unites Health First’s mission to improve the health and wellness of the communities we serve with BHA’s role as Brevard County’s federally qualified health center, dedicated to providing accessible comprehensive care to all. Residents will train in environments where they not only develop clinical excellence, but also gain firsthand insight into the social, cultural, and economic factors that shape outcomes.
The Family Medicine Residency Program is a three-year, ACGME-accredited program, and is fully committed to preparing the next generation of quality, patient-centered family care physicians. Throughout their training, our Family Medicine residents will gain comprehensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient environments, with meaningful exposure to the unique health challenges of our Brevard County Communities. Working closely with BHA’s dedicated care teams, residents will serve a broad patient base gaining the skills to address complex, real-world health needs.
Through this partnership, residents learn that medicine is not just about diagnosing and treating, it is about building trust, understanding the whole patient, and committing to a lifetime of learning and advocacy.
This program accepts 6 family medicine residents per year.
