How it works

Filler treatments are typically done in just 15 to 30 minutes during one office visit. Our skilled physicians and trained specialists will inject cosmetic dermal fillers just below the surface of the skin.

Prior to the treatment, your dermatologist may use ice, a topical anesthetic, or a nerve block for your comfort during the procedure. They may also conduct an allergy test to make sure you won’t have a reaction.

Most fillers are made of safe, biocompatible microparticles. Some treatments use your own body fat as a filler using a procedure called tumescent liposuction. A small amount of fat is removed from one area of the body, safely processed, and then injected into another spot that needs plumping.

There may be several injections given during one treatment to ensure the best results.

Patients can often return to their daily activities right after their treatment. Sometimes your dermatologist may recommend briefly icing the treated area before you leave the office. You should wait until the next day to exercise, and you should avoid sun exposure as much as possible.
