Lauren Kropp, MD is an American Board of Radiology board-certified Radiation Oncologist who came to Health First from the Pacific Cancer Institute, a private practice in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii.
Kropp grew up in DeLand, FL and received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences from the University of Florida. She earned her medical doctorate from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. She completed her preliminary medicine internship at the University of Florida College of Medicine and her radiation oncology residency at the University of Chicago and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year of training. She practiced radiation oncology in Hawaii on the island of Maui prior to joining Health First.
Kropp is licensed to practice medicine in Florida, Alabama, and Hawaii and she is also certified in Advanced Wilderness Life Support. She is a member of Radiating Hope, a nonprofit organization that strives to improve radiation oncology care internationally. She has traveled to Nepal and Chile on advocacy trips with Radiating Hope to support the development of radiation oncology practices in underserved regions worldwide. She has experience in multiple radiation delivery modalities including intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), 3-dimensional radiation therapy (3D RT), volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS).
As a radiation oncologist, Dr. Kropp strives to improve the patient experience through the personal connections she makes with her patients and their families. She focuses on utilizing advanced technologies during the development of individualized radiation treatment plans to maximally reduce the side effects of treatment. She has experience in treating lymphoma, breast, gynecologic, lung, gastrointestinal, prostate, brain, head and neck, and skin cancers.
In her spare time, she enjoys fishing, open water swimming, traveling, snowboarding, hiking, reading, and spending time with her Rhodesian Ridgeback, Beauregard.
