Hassan Borghei, DO, a Board-certified Gastroenterologist, shares his Cocoa Beach Gastroentrology practice with Salman Rashid, MD, who's also a Gastroenterologist with the Health First Physicians Group. Dr. Borghei specializes in diagnosing, treating, and preventing diseases of the digestive system.

Dr. Borghei graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He then earned his Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences as well as his Medical Degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He served a four-year Residency at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, after which he completed Fellowship training in Hepatology from Graduate Hospital. He also completed another Residency and Fellowship in Hepatology at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York..

Dr. Borghei's professional interests include inflammatory bowel disease and thyroid disease. He has authored numerous journal articles and publications and is currently researching esophageal motility and thyroid disease. He's also a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Physicians, American Society of Internal Medicine, and the American Osteopathic Association. He's also a member of the Medical Staff at Health First Cape Canaveral Hospital.

In his free time he enjoys playing guitar, soccer, football, skiing, and computers.

New patients should arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled appointments to complete all paperwork. They should bring their insurance cards, a government-issued photo ID, and lists of their medicines and any prior operations. Co-pays and any outstanding balances are due at the time of each visit. Generally, operations or procedures won't take place on the first visit.
