Jonathan Huggins, PAC


Jonathan Huggins is a Board-certified Physician Assistant (PA) with the Health First Medical Group (HFMG) serving orthopedic trauma patients at Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center. After completing his Bachelor of Health Science degree from University of Science in Philadelphia in PA, he earned his Master of Science degree in the Physician Assistant program from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a Fellowship in Emergency Medicine at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, PA. He served as a Paramedic in Southeast Pennsylvania prior to his Fellowship.

Prior to joining HFMG, Jonathan served as a PA at the Georgia Orthopedic Trauma Institute in Macon, GA. There he served as the lead PA in a growing ortho-trauma physician group providing care at The Medical Center of Central Georgia's Level I Trauma Center. In addition to taking first trauma calls, evaluating, triaging, and stabilizing patients, Jonathan ordered diagnostic tests and facilitated inter-hospital transfers, performed consults, pre-ops, and first assist in the OR. He also served as the group's administrator.

Before that position, Jonathan served as a PA for McLeod Orthopedic Associates, a hospital-based orthopedic physician group providing orthopedic trauma care at the McLeod Regional Medical Center's Level 2 Trauma facility.

Jonathan has served as a faculty member at the South Eastern Fracture Symposium (SEFS) 2012 and 2013, and a presenter at the SEFS 2013 speaking about Orthopedic Trauma - The Mid-Level Provider's Contribution. Jonathan served in the U.S. Army from 1988 to 1993, serving in Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

Office Location


New patients should arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled appointments to complete all paperwork. They should bring their insurance cards, a government-issued photo ID, and lists of their medicines and any prior operations. Co-pays and any outstanding balances are due at the time of each visit. Generally, operations or procedures won't take place on the first visit.
