Before arriving at Health First, Dr. Khalil worked at trauma programs in MI, PA and FL. Doing locum work he has experienced trauma programs of different trauma level designations and hospital sizes -- from large programs in big cities to small 25-man forward surgical teams operating in tents while deployed to Afghanistan with the Army.

Dr. Khalil completed a fellowship in surgical trauma/critical care at Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, NY. He completed a surgical residency at Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, NY. Dr. Khalil received his medical education at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine in Rootstown, OH. He earned his Post Baccalaureate in Premedical Sciences at Columbia University in New York, NY. Dr. Khalil earned his Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in chemistry from Montclair State University in Upper Montclair, NJ.

Dr. Khalil is basic cardiac life support, advanced cardiac life support and advanced trauma life support certified. He is a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve- Medical Corps since June of 2009 and been deployed to Afghanistan four times since.
