A hospitalist is a provider who specializes in caring for patients while they are in the hospital. Hospitalists work closely with your primary care provider and frequently inform him or her of your condition.

When you require hospitalization, your provider or an Emergency Department physician will coordinate your admission with a hospitalist. The hospitalists are on site 24 hours a day and work closely with all hospital staff to coordinate your care.

Vanessa LaLoggia, MSN, APRN, ANP-C, AACC is an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from University of North Carolina Charlotte in Charlotte, NC and her Bachelor of Science from University of Phoenix in Phoenix, AZ.

LaLoggia obtained her Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification AANP. She is advanced cardiac life support, basic life support, pediatric life support, advanced trauma life support and cardiac intensive care certified. She is also a rapid response team coordinator, stroke certified and SLAM airway trained.

Policies

New patients should arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled appointments to complete all paperwork. They should bring their insurance cards, a government-issued photo ID, and lists of their medicines and any prior operations. Co-pays and any outstanding balances are due at the time of each visit. Generally, operations or procedures won't take place on the first visit.
