Grainger Steele Lanneau, MD, is a board-certified gynecologist - oncologist with Health First Cancer Institute. Dr. Lanneau has a wealth of experience in private and military medical service, most recently as the director of surgical research at the Bioskills Training Center Naval Medical Center San Diego and with a faculty appointment with the University of California San Diego.

Dr. Lanneau completed a fellowship in Gynecology Oncology at University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City, OK. He completed a Residency in obstetrics and gynecology and an internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He earned his medical degree from The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA and his Bachelor of Science from Berry College in Mount Berry, GA. Dr. Lanneau has held academic appointments with The F. Edward Hubert School of Medicine in Bethesda, MD, The University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City, OK, The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS, and Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA.

He is a passionate advocate for his patients and appreciates the opportunity to be a part of their journey. His interests include genetics and quality of life interventions. He performs robotic, laparoscopic and open cancer staging procedures as well as complex benign surgeries. He understands that cancer affects the whole family and along with his team provides support, education and therapy tailored to those affected.

Dr. Lanneau is board-certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecology Oncology, a National Board of Medical Examiners Diplomat, a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a Member of the Society of Gynecology Oncology. He has been awarded the Admiral’s Grant, the Surgeon General’s Award and several ACOG faculty teaching awards. He has authored numerous book chapters, research protocols and peer reviewed articles.
