A hospitalist is a provider who specializes in caring for patients while they are in the hospital. Hospitalists work closely with your primary care provider and frequently inform him or her of your condition.

When you require hospitalization, your provider or an Emergency Department physician will coordinate your admission with a hospitalist. The hospitalists are on site 24 hours a day and work closely with all hospital staff to coordinate your care.

Suhan Li, MD is a board-certified Hospitalist coming to Brevard from a medical group in Oregon. He served his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Florida/Shands Jacksonville Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Li earned his Doctor of Medicine from University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Kentucky. He earned his Master of Science from University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Li earned his Bachelor of Science from Wuhan, Hubei, P.R. China.

Dr. Li is licensed to practice medicine in Florida and Oregon.

New patients should arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled appointments to complete all paperwork. They should bring their insurance cards, a government-issued photo ID, and lists of their medicines and any prior operations. Co-pays and any outstanding balances are due at the time of each visit. Generally, operations or procedures won't take place on the first visit.
