Joshua Michaelman is a Board Certified Physician Assistant with the Health First Medical Group serving patients at Health First's Holmes Regional Medical Center.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences and a Master of Health Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT. He then completed a certificate of Physician Assistant Surgical Residency from Norwalk Hospital/Yale University School of Medicine in Norwalk, CT. He was recognized with the Linda Brandt Memorial Award for exemplary spirit and dedication.

While at Norwalk Hospital/Yale University School of Medicine, Joshua first served as a Surgical Physician Assistant Resident. He completed an intensive 12-month clinical and didactic program conducted jointly by the Department of Surgery at Norwalk Hospital and Yale University School of Medicine. He then served as Staff Surgical Physician Assistant, serving as a member of the surgical house staff at a 250-bed community hospital, level II trauma center covering surgical floor and ICU settings.

Most recently, Joshua served as Emergency Department Physician Assistant for Emergency Medical Associates of Tampa Bay in Tampa, and Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant for Cardiac Surgical Associates in Saint Petersburg, Fl. In Tampa, Joshua performed bedside procedures including suturing, casting/splinting, joint aspiration, lumbar puncture and chest tube insertion. In Saint Petersburg, Joshua served as First Assist in several operations involving cardiac, thoracic and vascular patients. He also served as First Assist in robotic, thoracic surgical procedures. He performed vein harvesting procedures and bedside procedures.

Policies

New patients should arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled appointments to complete all paperwork. They should bring their insurance cards, a government-issued photo ID, and lists of their medicines and any prior operations. Co-pays and any outstanding balances are due at the time of each visit. Generally, operations or procedures won't take place on the first visit.
