Alexies Ramirez, MD is a board-certified cardiologist with Health First who specializes in Cardiac Electrophysiology. Before arriving at Health First, Dr. Ramirez worked as a Cardiac Electrophysiologist at San Antonio Military Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Ramirez is a former U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel in the Medical Corps with military experience in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease prevention, and electrophysiology. He has been awarded the National Defense Service Medal, The Air Force Service Ribbon, The Air Force Commendation Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, The Meritorious Service Medal, and the Joint Commendation Medal.

Dr. Ramirez completed postdoctoral training in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine's Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL and in Cardiovascular Medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. Dr. Ramirez completed postdoctoral training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center in Salt Lake City, UT. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA and his Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from Florida International University in Miami, FL.

Dr. Ramirez is a member of the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society and Bexar County Medical Society. He is a Diplomate, American Board of Internal Medicine Cardiovascular Disease and Diplomate, American Board of Internal Medicine Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He is licensed to practice medicine in Texas and Florida.

Dr. Ramirez has authored or co-authored research in several publications, including a book chapter, abstracts and several peer-reviewed manuscripts. He has presented research at major conferences around the world.
