I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia after moving from Germany when I was 15 years old. I graduated from Georgia Tech with highest honors in 1987. I was accepted into the M.D/Ph.D. program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where I received my Ph.D. in 1994 in Microbiology and my M.D. in 1995. I completed my Internal Medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Afterwards, I went to the University of Florida where I completed my Nephrology fellowship. I was recently elected a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.

My practice specializes in all aspects of kidney disease including hypertension, acute and chronic renal failure, glomerulonephritis, renal transplantation and dialysis. I am certified as a hypertension specialist by the American Society of Hypertension. I have a Ph.D. in Microbiology. In my spare time I enjoy classical music, traveling, soccer and flying. I am fluent in German.

New patients should arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled appointments to complete all paperwork. They should bring their insurance cards, a government-issued photo ID, and lists of their medicines and any prior operations. Co-pays and any outstanding balances are due at the time of each visit. Generally, operations or procedures won't take place on the first visit.
