MELBOURNE, Fla. (November 19, 2018) — Health First is once again participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations. The movement encourages philanthropy and celebrates generosity worldwide.
Held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday is slated for November 29 this year, on the heels of widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The effort is designed to kick off the holiday giving season by inspiring people to collaborate on improving their local communities and give back in impactful ways, through charities and causes they support.
All gifts received by the Health First Foundation on #GivingTuesday will directly benefit the patients and families of the Health First Cancer Institute. More than 65,000 patients are treated each year at five Health First Cancer Institute locations across Brevard County.
“We are excited to participate once again in Giving Tuesday and highlight the excellent work being done at the Health First Cancer Institute,” said Michael Seeley, President, Health First Foundation. “Our community has always shown that they are willing to help others, and we encourage them to give on this special day to a worthy cause.”
The Health First Cancer Institute is Number One in Brevard for cancer specialists. They offer more physicians working together in the detection, treatment and management of cancer, providing more specialties than any other single program in the county.
