Health First's 4 Hospitals Named Top Performers for Quality
Joint Commission Report Recognizes Health First's Holmes Regional Medical Center, Cape Canaveral Hospital, Palm Bay Hospital & Viera Hospital
Rockledge, Fla. (Nov. 14, 2014) -- The Joint Commission, which accredits and certifies U.S. medical centers and hospitals, announced this week that all four Health First hospitals have been recognized as Top Performers for 2013. The results were released as part of “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety: The Joint Commission’s 2014 Annual Report.”
Tertiary hospital Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center was recognized for the following Key Quality Measures: Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia and Surgical Care.
Health First’s community hospitals also were honored for the following measures: Health First's Cape Canaveral Hospital for Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia and Surgical Care; Health First's Palm Bay Hospital for Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia and Surgical Care; and Health First's Viera Hospital for Pneumonia and Surgical Care.

The Top Performer program identifies hospitals with extraordinary performance related to quality accountability measures for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, perinatal care, surgical care, children’s asthma care, inpatient psychiatric services, venous thromboembolism (VTE) care, stroke care and immunization.
