U.S. News & World Report Names Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center Only Top Performer in Brevard
Rockledge, FL (July 16, 2014) – Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center has once again been ranked as one of the best hospitals in Florida by U.S. News & World Report. Of the 11 hospitals in the Brevard County region, Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center was recognized as the county’s only top performer. U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals Rankings, now in their 25th year, recognize hospitals that excel in treating patients. There are more than 250 hospitals in Florida and only 34 made the list.
“Health First Holmes Regional is part of our integrated delivery network and we are proud to be recognized on a national level and we plan to continue to strive to improve the health and wellness of all of Brevard,” said Health First Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer Stuart Mitchell. “This ranking is evidence of Health First’s promise to provide nationally recognized exceptional care in our community.
U.S. News publishes Best Hospitals to help guide patients who need a high level of care because they face particularly difficult surgery, a challenging condition, or added risk because of other health problems or age. Objective measures such as patient survival and safety data, the adequacy of nurse staffing levels and other data largely determined the rankings in most specialties.
“We are extremely proud of the dedication, leadership and commitment of our providers, associates and volunteers,” said Sean Gregory President Health First Holmes Regional. “These rankings reflect the exceptional work performed daily for the people of Brevard.”
Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center was also designated high-performing in Orthopedics. U.S. News evaluates hospitals in 16 adult specialties and recognizes high-performing hospitals that provide care at nearly the level of their nationally ranked peers.
The specialty rankings and data were produced for U.S. News by RTI International, a leading research organization based in Research Triangle Park, N.C. Using the same data, U.S. News produced the state and metro rankings.
