Baby Remi First to Arrive in 2024, Mom Says ‘I Really Love the Hospital and How Easy They Make It’

Each year more than 5,000 babies are born in Brevard County, most in Health First hospitals.

BABY REMI arrived just before noon on New Year’s Day at the Birthing Center at Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center. Mother Shannon Hamper said all three of her children were born here. “I really love the hospital and how easy they make the whole process,” she said.

 

More than 5,000 babies are born in Brevard County each year, and most arrive in Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center and Cape Canaveral Hospital.

Baby girl Remi was the first to arrive in the county this year, born at 11:20 a.m. on New Year’s Day at the Birthing Center at Holmes Regional.

She weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces and measured in at 19.25 inches.

Remi’s mother, Shannon Hamper of Melbourne said this is her third child born at HealthFirst.

Remi’s two older brothers are also excited to meet their new sister.

“I really love the hospital and how easy they make the whole process,” Hamper said. “I just love all the staff.”
