We celebrate National Physical Therapy Month and raise awareness about why exercise is important. Health First Outpatient Rehabilitation Specialist, Paulette Swanson, shares how you can prevent falls and injuries now and down the road with Orlando NBC affiliate, WESH 2 News.

This year's theme is Fall Prevention. Did you know, one in four Americans over the age of 65 will fall.  Health First Outpatient Rehabilitation Specialist, Paulette Swanson, says it's very important to start an exercise program now. Now is the best time to maintain your muscle mass so you don't end up falling later in life.

"It is remarkable what physical therapy can do. So sometimes you can have an injury when you're younger and not realize that you have a limitation down the road and then it can sneak up. So it's best to come in and see a physical therapist. We can assess you head to toe and see if there's a little bit of weakness or we can check out your range of motion, your strength, your reaction time, and how your eyes move."
