Information for Volunteers
Time Commitment
- With 250+ active Volunteers, we support the Palm Bay Hospital operations year-round.
- We have Volunteers who are both year-round and seasonal residents.
- We ask for an annual commitment of at least 100 hours, usually fulfilled by weekly shifts of 3-4 hours duration.
Orientation / Training
- All Volunteers attend an approximately two hour orientation session to familiarize them with our Health First Core Values
- Exceptional Service standards are a part of these core values and HF connections details behavioral expectations
- Additional training is dependent upon the assigned area and complexity of the job.
- Annual training updates are mandatory
Service Recognition
- In addition to our annual Volunteer appreciation luncheon, individuals are recognized for both hours-of-service and years-of-service.
- The Auxiliary /Volunteer Department provides leadership opportunities through participation on the Board as chair people and officers
Teen Volunteer Program
- Program designed for teens 15-18 years old
- Teens interested in making a difference
- Interested in being exposed to different medical careers
- Seeking to obtain community service hours ( please note that we do not provide court ordered service placements)
