Hospice of Health First is proud to honor and celebrate veterans in the final stages of their journey. As a Level Five partner with the national We Honor Veterans program, we have access to resources and training to better align our care with the unique physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of our veteran patients.

About Forever a Hero.

To recognize and honor veterans, Hospice of Health First hosts a ceremony attended by members of the interdisciplinary team, volunteers, and fellow veterans, allowing us to express our profound gratitude for their service and sacrifice. During this ceremony, the team presents a folded American flag, a personalized certificate, a pin, and a hand-made patriotic blanket.

With the generous support of The American Legion, Patrick Space Force Base, and the Veterans Memorial Center, our veterans are provided with the opportunity to share their stories. These stories are not only shared with their loved ones but also become a part of a legacy project, where a record of their experiences is preserved in the Library of Congress. This initiative ensures that they leave a lasting mark on history, impacting generations to come.
