Interventional Radiology

Interventional Radiology is a specialty of medicine utilizing minimally-invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system. Such as:

• Chest (lungs, respiratory system)
• Genitourinary (uterus, kidneys)
• Vascular (arteries, veins, hemodialysis access)
• Musculoskeletal (bones, joints, spine)

Many issues that once needed surgical repair can now be treated without surgery by interventional radiologists. This reduces physical trauma to the patient and the risk of infection due to shorter hospital stays and recovery time. In addition, there is minimal to no scarring and overall, less pain.
