Make a birth plan.
You have many options when it comes to creating a birth plan — and the flexibility to change your mind at any time. Your birth plan will help guide you and your healthcare team through labor, delivery, recovery, and those first hours with your baby.
Here are a few things to consider:
- Would you like pain medication or an epidural?
- Who do you want in the delivery room with you?
- Would you like to watch the birth with a mirror?
- Would you like to move around a lot, or would you prefer to labor in bed?
- Will you delay clamping the cord?
- Have you considered banking the cord blood?
- Do you plan to breastfeed or bottle feed?
Remember, you don’t need to make every decision ahead of time. Sometimes it is easier to wait and see how you feel once you are at the hospital.
Register for delivery.
Please complete hospital pre-admission registration between 28-32 weeks of your pregnancy to ensure your personal information is updated. If you have questions, please contact the patient admission office at 321.434.7103.
