Pharmacy residency programs.

We know how important pharmacists are to the community, and to each patient's individual healthcare journey.

That’s why, since 2011, Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center has offered a Postgraduate Year One program for pharmacists in training and a Postgraduate Year Two program in Critical Care. These programs are designed to advance clinical capabilities in a wide variety of pharmacy settings across our Integrated Delivery Network.

You may become a part of the fabric of Holmes Regional Medical Center or Health First's Cape Canaveral Hospital, Health First's Palm Bay Hospital, or Health First's Viera Hospital. Or perhaps you'll make an impact with Health First Medical Group or VitalWatch® eICU. Wherever you go with our program, you will join a Pharmacy team dedicated to providing high-quality care.

Optimizing medication use. Ensuring patient safety. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals.

These are just a few of our guiding principles. Our pharmacists are involved in every step of the journey toward wellness. You'll handle things like:

  • Critical care and general medical rounds led by physicians.
  • Cost-savings and quality improvement projects.
  • Drug therapy surveillance.
  • Medication order entry, preparation, and delivery.
  • Precepting residents and Advanced Pharmacy Professional Experience Program (APPE) students.
  • Ambulatory care services.

Applying to our program is simple.

We participate in the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Services (PhORCAS). To receive full consideration, please complete and submit all application materials through PhORCAS prior to the application deadline. Following the review of applications, qualified candidates will be invited to interview.

Your complete application will include:

  • A letter of intent describing your motivation for pursuing residency training.
  • Curriculum vitae (PDF format preferred).
  • College of Pharmacy transcripts.
  • Three professional recommendations, at least two of which should be from clinic preceptors.
NOTE: Utilization of the Standardized Reference Form via PhORCAS is preferred. Please ensure the preceptors/faculty submitting a Reference Form on your behalf include sufficient examples for each characteristic evaluated. Formal letters are still accepted but must be uploaded into PhORCAS.

Please address your letter of intent and letters of recommendation (in addition to uploading them into PhORCAS) to the Residency Program Director at:
