KIMBERLY AND JASON DEHLER'S fourth baby, Draven, born 8 pounds at 9:25 a.m. Feb. 29, 2024, was one of five babies born before 5 p.m. on leap day at Health First's Holmes Regional Medical Center. Another three arrived at Health First's Cape Canaveral Hospital.

Little Draven Dehler was one of five babies delivered at Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center by mid-afternoon on leap day.

Draven, born about 8 pounds at 9:25 in the morning, arrives the smallest of an established team created by Kimberly and Jason Dehler of Cocoa, joining brother Drake, 11, and sisters Trevi, 9, and Venice, 5. The family said they’d not determined if Feb. 28 or March 1 would be the “unofficial” birthday during the off years.

The couple owns Dingers baseball and softball training center in Rockledge and arrived at the hospital wearing themed sports tees. Little Draven got a pinstriped onesie with “Daddy’s Rookie” on the front.

Health First’s Cape Canaveral Hospital had three births by 5 p.m. Both hospitals had several more moms in Labor & Delivery. Last year Brevard County welcomed just over 5,200 babies.
