HEALTH FIRST has been named to the prestigious Forbes list of America’s Best-in-State Employers for 2023 in Florida. This award is presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The state-by-state list can be viewed on Forbes’ website.

Health First has been named to the prestigious Forbes list of America’s Best-in-State Employers for 2023 in Florida. Health First came in at 63 among all employers in the state of Florida – one of only 16 hospitals or healthcare systems recognized.

Notably, Health First was the only Brevard County-based employer on the list.

“As we find ourselves capturing the attention of more national ‘best’ rankings – whether it’s for workplace and cultural quality, or for safety and patient experience – it’s clear that something truly special is happening here in our small slice of paradise on Florida’s Space Coast,” said Health First Chief Experience Officer Paula Just. “Our Health First associates love what they do, why they do it, and who they do it for – which is you, our friends and neighbors in the community. And quite frankly, that’s the recipe for success!”

“There is simply no better validation for the quality and success of an organization than from the feedback of its employees and customers,” said Health First Board Chair Kent Smith. “Health First has a tremendously proud, engaged and dedicated team – and our customers can rest assured that the care they receive is reflective of that positive environment. I’m so proud of every physician, associate, volunteer or community stakeholder that have made this honor possible.”

America’s Best-in-State Employers 2023 were identified based on 2.1 million employer recommendations from employees working for companies with more than 500 employees in the United States. The evaluation was made on a state-by-state basis – with employers with operations in more than one state ranked in multiple states – and is based on three distinct criteria: In-state indirect recommendations, National in-industry indirect recommendations, and Direct recommendations.
