Health First's Holmes Regional Medical Center was named the No. 1 hospital in Brevard County, and Health First’s four hospitals earned a combined total of 14 “High Performing Specialty” designations as part of U.S. News & World Report's 2024 Best Hospitals report released this month.

Now in its 35th year, Best Hospitals evaluates thousands of U.S. hospitals in more than 30 medical and surgical services. As part of the annual report, hospitals are rated according to their performance in complex care in medical specialties and in common procedures and conditions. To help patients decide where to receive care, U.S. News generates hospital rankings by evaluating data on nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide.

In addition to being ranked the No. 1 hospital in Brevard County, Holmes Regional Medical Center was ranked No. 17 in the state of Florida – a jump of 5 spots from last year’s No. 22 state ranking (among more than 300 hospitals.)

“This is a tremendous recognition for Holmes Regional Medical Center and all of Health First, and it truly speaks to the breadth and quality of services we provide to our Space Coast community,” said Cheyana Fischer, Health First Chief Clinical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer.

“The U.S. News Best Hospitals report is one of the most thorough, informative, and prestigious evaluation tools available for consumers today. And while this is certainly a time to celebrate for our 9,500 associates - our physicians, nurses, staff and volunteers – today we set the bar even higher, pushing ourselves to improve on everything we do each day on behalf of our family members, friends, neighbors and communities that rely on us."
